Good morning Boys and Girls! It's time for our fitness and fun challenge!!

Millennia Kids Challenge aims to promote active living and help foster stronger family bonds among families in the northeast. Organized for the second year in a row together with our partners Health Promotion Board, Sports Singapore, Tobacco-Free Generation 2000. 

For this challenge, participants form parent-child teams to take part in an obstacle course or cycling event to pledge to be smoke-free and at the same time foster stronger family bonds.

With the theme for the night - Rock Around The Clock, we had an amazingly turnout of staff in various costumes. We had Slash, Michael Jackson, Avril Lavigne, Adam Lambert, hippies, street dance crews, Amy Winehouse, Stephanie Sun, Billy Bombers waitress uniforms and many more...

The energy level of the crowd was fantastic. Although we had 14 tables, but it felt like 40 tables! The opening was an Elvis Presley impersonation and halfway through the event we had the mentalist Ferris Yao, dazzling the crowd with his mind boggling mind reading skills. How did he do it?

The night wrapped up with great mass participation, dancing and taking lots of group photos too!

Ladies and gentlemen, the championships are about to start. Are you ready champions!!??!!

This evening, over 1000 staff got together for a wonderful evening of fun and entertainment.  As the theme for the night was Sports, the audience were divided into teams, competing to win various segments just like in the Olympics!! We had lots of fun games, from requiring accuracy to strength, from individual to teamwork. Everyone was in the spirit!

One of the highlight for the evening was the Best Dressed Group and we had so many great groups showing up in outfits stretching their creativity. The champion group went to the inflatable Sumos!!

The Kendama Challenge

Event: The Kendama Challenge

Venue: Lot One Shopping Mall

Kendama (けん玉 ?, also written as 剣玉 and 拳玉) is a traditional Japanese toy. The ken has three cups and a spike which fits into the hole in the ball. Basic kendama tricks consist of catching the ball in the cups and on the spike. More advanced tricks such as the airplane require you to hold the ball and land the spike in the hole on the ball.

Kendama bears similarities to the classic cup-and-ball game, and the Hispanic world toy known as boliche or balero. The principle of these toys are the same: catching one object with another, where both are joined by a string. However the modern kendama style takes influences from a diverse range of skills including yo-yo, diabolo, juggling and dance.

Welcome to the Kendama Challenge! We had over 90 contestants taking part today. The first round was the qualifying round and categorized into beginner, intermediate and advanced level. We were honoured to have Dan and Jaspers from Kendama Fox to judge the contest and award the prizes to the winners. Check out their website www.kendamafox.com.

Venue: Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour Malaysia

OCBC Group Audit staff across various countries Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and China were gathered for a 2 day 1 night retreat at Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour in Malaysia. I am glad to have been invited to host the evening dinner celebration.

We had many staff performances from the various departments and colleagues from around the region. It was awesome to see everyone putting their best in the performances to entertain their colleagues. In addition, we had games and ended the night with a finale mass dance. Check out the video below!
