The inaugural South West Community Job Fair is a ground up initiative by South West Community Development Council, Qood Pte. Ltd and Maybank Singapore to bring job opportunities closer to our residents. Working closely with various partners, trade and merchant associations and employers, the job fair aims to support our residents better in their jobs search journey by offering jobs from various sectors. The job fair is complemented by a new job portal that will be launched officially today.

Today, we have invited employers from various sectors who are offering many different jobs. We have about 25 booths here, offering jobs from sectors such as logistics, marine, retail, restaurant, furniture and hotel sectors. In addition, there are participating associations here with us today, representing their network of members who are also hiring.

Thanks to our industry partners, we have over 400 companies offering 7000 positions!

Details of Home Improvement Programme

The HIP helps to resolve common maintenance problems of ageing flats such as spalling concrete. The HIP consists of 3 components.

The Essential Improvements which include items such as replacement of cast iron waste/soil pipes, repair of spalling concrete and the new clothes drying rack. 必要改进项目包括更换铸铁污水排水管和修补剥落的混凝土

The Optional Improvements which consist of items such as toilets upgrading and replacement of entrance door. 选择性改进项目则包括翻新厕所/浴室和更换组屋大门的项目

Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE), an elderly friendly initiative, which consist of items such as grab bars and ramps. 乐龄易计划改进项目, 可选择在住家内安装扶手、以及为轮椅使用者安装轮椅斜坡走道。

The Essential Improvements are fully funded by the Government while the Optional Improvements and EASE are highly subsidised for citizen households.

Digital" refers to the way in which TV channels are broadcast and received in your homes. TV channels in Singapore are now broadcast in both Analogue and Digital formats. Since December 2013, Mediacorp has been transmitting all free-to-air channels in Digital format under the DVB-T2 television standard. The existing Analogue TV channels will be switched off on 31 December 2018 and all Mediacorp TV channels will be broadcast in Digital only.
