Today is a great day for every PA staff across the island as we gathered for the Service Innovation Day. It is also a time to recognize outstanding individuals and teams within People's Association network whom have demonstrated excellent service finesse in their day to day work. Chief Executive Director Mr Ang Hak Seng highlighted the importance of Care, Service and Innovation in reaching out to the community. As a grand finale, we launched iCARE new core values and recited the service pledge together.

Also we had PCK Look Alike, a local comedian whom gave our audience lots of laughter and fun. We ended the evening with everyone up on their feet and moving to the beat!

The Kendama Challenge

Event: The Kendama Challenge

Venue: Lot One Shopping Mall

Kendama (けん玉 ?, also written as 剣玉 and 拳玉) is a traditional Japanese toy. The ken has three cups and a spike which fits into the hole in the ball. Basic kendama tricks consist of catching the ball in the cups and on the spike. More advanced tricks such as the airplane require you to hold the ball and land the spike in the hole on the ball.

Kendama bears similarities to the classic cup-and-ball game, and the Hispanic world toy known as boliche or balero. The principle of these toys are the same: catching one object with another, where both are joined by a string. However the modern kendama style takes influences from a diverse range of skills including yo-yo, diabolo, juggling and dance.

Welcome to the Kendama Challenge! We had over 90 contestants taking part today. The first round was the qualifying round and categorized into beginner, intermediate and advanced level. We were honoured to have Dan and Jaspers from Kendama Fox to judge the contest and award the prizes to the winners. Check out their website www.kendamafox.com.

OCBC Group Audit Annual Dinner and Dance 2015

Event: OCBC Group Audit Annual Dinner and Dance 2015

Venue: Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour Malaysia

OCBC Group Audit staff across various countries Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and China were gathered for a 2 day 1 night retreat at Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour in Malaysia. I am glad to have been invited to host the evening dinner celebration.

We had many staff performances from the various departments and colleagues from around the region. It was awesome to see everyone putting their best in the performances to entertain their colleagues. In addition, we had games and ended the night with a finale mass dance. Check out the video below!

Singapore emcee Richard Style hosted this event this evening with the theme Around The World. Highlight for the evening was a beauty pageant contest for 10 shortlisted female employees among the many whom participated in the selection. The pageants presented a kaleidoscope of dresses from different nationalities and a later segment in the evening saw them in elaborate and beautiful evening gowns. Desert Roses, a popular local dance entourage gave an entertaining display of dances with great audience participation. Thank you Linear Technology for having me host this grand annual event.

Have you heard of Chang er, Hou Yi, Jade Rabbit and many more folklore of the Mid Autumn festival? Or probably heard of the wide variety of mooncakes, yum yum? From ice cream to chocolate, from traditional to modern mooncakes, the choices are amazing!

Tonight at Keat Hong, we broke the Singapore Book of Records for the most number of recycled bottles lanterns. A total of 2818, breaking the previous record of 2155! All the lanterns were made over three months by the residents and volunteers. Among the exciting activities this evening, we had the residents pomelo peeling and display competition where residents could get toether in groups of three to showcase their peeling and design skills.

The highlight of the evening was the Lip Sync Battle contest among the staff and colleagues. We had Guns and Roses, Grease, Sugarhill, Scorpions and Taylor Swift appearances. Everyone had so much fun with the performances and came forward to support their colleagues on stage!
