This is an introduction of my Guide To Becoming A Professional Emcee in Singapore. Community Sports Festival 2015 @ Jurong

Event: Community Sports Festival 2015 @ Jurong
Venue: Canopy (Jurong Regional Library)

This afternoon I had a great time with the participants and their families at the event. First part was a 2km mass walk starting from Chinese Garden. As the participants strolled in, I welcomed them with great energy and applause for completing the walk! Smiling faces, making new friends and participants having a wonderful time during the walk. We were honoured to have Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam and fellow advisers joining us at this event.

There was also a mass community effort to display a huge SG50 logo followed by a spectacular entrance by our SEA Games mascot Nila! Everyone cheered on for Team Singapore and I am definitely looking forward to supporting and cheering Team Singapore at the upcoming SEA Games 2015!

Raffles Quay Asset Management Dinner And Dance 2015

Event: Raffles Quay Asset Management Dinner And Dance 2015
Venue: Hotel InterContinental Hotel Singapore

Our theme for this evening's dinner and dance is East Meets West. Quick survey here for my readers, do you think of the East or the West or in between when you think about the phrase "East Meets West"?

For me, the first thing that came to mind was India. Indian curry is almost like a national dish in UK and recently PM Modi went to China to improve bilateral relations. So tonight I decided to come in Indian traditional costume - Kurta!

Welcome to my show!

At the Chingay Parade Singapore 2015, PAYM formed a 800 strong youth contingent.  The performance saw the youths danced amongst 150 Trees of Hopes in a magical forest of Dreams. And in recognition of this showpiece, the Contingent clinched the “Chingay Champion of the Year” and “Best Audience Contingent” Awards for Chingay Parade 2015. This performance was aptly called the “Dance of Passion, Aspirations of Youths”.

This performance could only be made possible with six months of sacrifice and commitment put in by YOU, the subcommittee members and performers of the PAYM Chingay Contingent 2015!

Thank you to all Chingay participants that have made this possible!!

Marine Parade NPC Community Policing System (COPS) Launch

Event: Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC) Community Policing System (COPS) Launch
Venue: Marine Parade

Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong
Grassroots Advisor for Marine Parade GRC

SPF is embarking on the new Community Policing System (COPS) that allows frontline resources to be more nimble, focused and responsive in fighting crime and at the same time deeply engage the community.

COPS is part of SPF’s continuous efforts to improve and stay abreast of changes in the operating environment. The plan is aimed at enhancing SPF’s capabilities to prevent, deter and detect crime with additional resources pumped to the frontline for crime fighting and community engagement. Developments in information technology and camera technology also offer opportunities to do things better and more efficiently.

Although SPF’s operational results have shown improvements, these changes are necessary to further improve on the already-low crime rates in Singapore and gear up Police to the next level to meet the challenges of a changing society.

At the same time, the public’s expectations of Police are also shifting. The public no longer expects Police to merely respond to and solve crime, but to also take more proactive steps in preventing and deterring crime through more presence on the ground and interactions with the community.
