“A Kampong Journey | The Changi Simei Story” aims to showcase the diversity of cultures and richness in the history of Changi Simei through food and heritage. 

Changi developed from attap huts to high rise apartments, its kampong spirit carried through from World War 2 till today. Not only does the book bring us through the heritage of Changi, it also features a total of 38 recipes contributed by residents of Changi Simei.

This book is made possible by many contributors who shared their stories and understanding of Changi’s history, as well as a dedicated team of volunteers.

Together with Mediacorp Love 972fm deejay 蔡礼莲 Lee Lian, we hosted the event and was honoured to have Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong as the guest of honour.

Apart from the festivities and performances, we launched the Home@JK, an initiative to help low income families defray repair costs in their homes. In the same spirit, the heartstrings programme saw many families presented with vouchers and grocery bags by our guest of honour and invited guests.

PassionArts Festival @ Limbang 2016

This year, 86 Community Arts & Culture Clubs under the PAssionArts Programme of the People's Association (PA) will be presenting 58 festival villages across the island from 18 June to 31 July 2016. 

For this year’s PAssionArts Festival at the national level, a total of 30,000 Singaporeans of different ages, races and backgrounds will be involved in co-creating 160 large format façade arts for display on external facades of HDB building and boundary walls of private condominiums.

We had Little Green Frogs performing for the residents too!

LGF(Little Green Frogs), is a local indie band from Singapore that writes and performs their own music, though they are inspired mainly from english artistes, LGF write their songs in chinese, all performed electronic-pop-rock style, a very unique blend of different genres.

Not your usual family day, this morning the staff and families completed a 5km competitive run and participated in a carnival where all the proceeds from coupons were donated to the adopted charity - Students Care Service.
