Event: Launch of Community YOUthCare Festival (CYF) 2017
This is the first time a Community YOUthCare Festival is organised.
Aimed at helping the needy and vulnerable segments in the community, the Community YOUthCare Festival aims to instil compassion and empathy in youths to create a vibrant and caring community in Singapore.
With “Caring Community” as its theme, the Festival will span across five weeks from 4 March to 2 April 2017. The month-long community initiative will see over 70 youth-driven projects rolled out island-wide spearheaded by PA’s Youth Executive Committees (YECs).
Today’s event “Walk for Wishes” is aimed at fulfilling 1,000 wishes of the less privileged in the community. 102 YECs have worked with the experienced grassroots leaders to each identify 10 beneficiaries from low-income families staying within their Constituencies. After this walk by the youths, we aimed to fulfil 1,000 wishes of the less privileged.
