Chinese believes that after the Lunar New Year celebrations, there is an auspicious timing to return back to work and commence work. Some companies will organise a luncheon or dinner on this auspicious date of returning to work so as to start the year on the right foot and everyone will have a smooth year ahead at work. Kelvin and Nicole from JusClean have invited me to be part of the CNY Dinner celebration and I am very glad to have this friendship with them since 2012! In about less than a week's time, we will be welcoming and celebrating the auspicious Chinese New Year. Chinatown and other parts of Singapore are having CNY bazaars so that every family can get their goodies and get ready to usher the new year. Some companies have stopped operations so that foreign workers could spend more time back home with their families.

I am excited to be hosting for Kim Soon Lee tonight. It is going to be awesome!

Tonight's event is held at Cloud Singapore which is at Pacific Plaza. It is a really nice place and has great ambience. For those of us whom have not been there, you should go check it out.

Tonight's dinner is to thank each and every one of our key community partners in the South West district for your continuous and strong support towards the CDC's in its programmes and initiatives. We would also like to present Long Service and South West CDC Grassroots Awards to recognize the support of our community partners.

We have lined up a series of performance, with the Taman Jurong Dragon and Lions Dance troupe bringing blessings and prosperity for the coming Chinese New Year. The Chinese Orchestra from Keat Hong Community Centre will also be bringing us popular and lovely tunes as we enjoy our dinner.

Here we go!

This morning we are expecting 1500 children and their parents to gather at the Home United Youth Academy for the Passion Children's Family Football Fiesta. There will be fun and games at the carnival, sweet treats as well as sumptuous lunch. Children gets to play with their peers and share footballs skills and knowledge. What's interesting is there will be the Parent and Child team kickoffs as well!

In addition, we have be having the partnership launch with Chelsea Football Club Soccer School Singapore. All these to look forward to and more!

Tonight the staff and their families, including children will be attending this event. I personally find it very heartwarming and a great initiative to include the staff's families in company dinner. It provide a good platform to get to know their families and also for the families to have a better understanding of their partners' jobs and what they do at work.
