Yuhua was a resettlement area for farmers from Yio Chu Kang and Chua Chu Kang in the early 1980s. Today, Yuhua has developed itself into a hub situated in the western part of Singapore, with wide ranging facilities including community hospitals, JEM and JCUBE shopping malls, 2 MRT lines (North-South / East-West). In totality, Yuhua is a vibrant community and a great place to live.
The organizing committee for this event has done an excellent job for this event, inviting schools and various clubs and committees to come forward with a showcase of their talents through singing, dancing and instruments. The recital of the National pledge was led by the students from Yuhua Primary school in all 4 languages and the National Anthem was led by St Anthony's Primary School choir. The fanfare to welcome the guest of honour was performed by Shuqun Secondary School Old Boys Old Girls (OBOG) Wind Symphony. The 9 NSmen whom joined the celebration carried the state flag during the singing of the National Anthem.
Celebrating our nation's 48th birthday, there was a birthday cake cutting ceremony and the audience sang along together with our invited guests. 3 toasts were proposed to wish our country and her people great success!
