Sin Hin Hang Chinese New Year Celebration 2012

Event: Sin Hin Hang Chinese New Year Celebration 2012
Date: February 2012
Venue: Sin Hin Hang

Today is the fifteen day of the Lunar New Year and commonly known as "元宵节" (yuan xiao jie). It is also said that this day is the Chinese Valentine's day.

I was invited to host this annual event for the company staff on their company premises. I have always had enjoyable experiences hosting on site within the company grounds. It can also be very challenging as compared to a hotel ballroom, where factors such as stage, lighting, sound and layout have been carefully managed.

The event tonight was held in a sheltered open area within the company's warehouse. The staff arrived immediately after work and everyone settled in very fast. This is the beauty of having it on site. Staff will almost always arrive on time!

We commenced the event with the traditional Chinese New Year customary practice of the "Lo Hei" followed by a sumptuous buffet spread. While the dinner went on, I started some ice-breakers and warmed up the audience. We played some games and discovered the hidden talents among the company! Hahaha...

Not forgetting the lucky draw, the management decided that everyone has to be a winner. Prizes were prepared for everyone with an additional round of grand lucky draw with 12 top prizes.

Here's 1-2 photos that I took prior to the event:

Getting the event ready. Can you see the helpers at the back?
The are preparing the delicious kong bak pao prepared by the organizer.

A plethora of fantastic lucky draw prize.
(Can you see how high the prizes are stacked up? For all 50 staff!)

The nerdy looking emcee

"Don't think we don't know how to sway!"

"Let me show you my rising dragon claw..."

"The Angry Birds preparing for their flight with Richard as the catapult"

The staff had so much fun and it was all the hard work and effort of the organizer.

I had a good time this evening. Thank you everyone!
