Colgate Palmolive Dinner 2012

Event: Colgate Palmolive Dinner 2012
Date: January 2012
Venue: Park Royal Hotel

The event was organized as a highlight to a 1-day meeting for the staff of Colgate as well as the upcoming Chinese New Year.

The evening began with an introduction and light-hearted jokes to warm everyone up after a full day of meeting. It was especially nice, since everyone knew each other and felt a lot more like a family gathering than a corporate function. Through my interactions with some, it lightened up the evening and got everything started on the right foot.

The Chinese "Yu Shen" or "Lo Hei" is customarily the first course as Chinese New Year is round the corner. In any restaurant. the waiter would garnish the dish with various ingredients, each representing a different blessing in the Chinese language. As I went through the list of blessings, the waiters poured the ingredients, and everyone was ready to tuck in and toss for better luck and blessings in the new year.

"Huat ah... Huat ah... Huat ah... "

The evening continued on with fun and games. There were mass games, table games and stage games and everyone participated happily, brightening the ballroom even further with laughter and applause. Thanks to one of the guest, Kelvin, who happened to be my classmate from secondary school, here are the photos that he took. I made it into a collage!

A big thank you to all the staff. You guys were great and I had a good time!

Happy New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai! May peace, prosperity, good health and happiness be yours throughout the new year!!
